Name Origin: The word "glycine" in Japanese is "gurishin" and so the name "gurishina" must be "Glycina." The words, incidentally, are derived from the Greek "glykeros" which means "sweet." The word "glycina" is part of the name "Glycina max" which is the binomial nomenclature of a variety of soybean.
